Car Ownership Utilities: Service, Fuel, Insurance, Resale Notes

Dealer apps are silos. A personal car file — shop visits, fuel, insurance, resale — is still a pile of PDFs.

  • Android

Ownership is a multi-year job: oil, tires, insurance PDF, fuel trend, a number for resale. OEM apps stop at the brand. Independent owners (SEA motorbikes + cars) keep a glove-box of paper.

This brief is part of the Android problem-space map. It is here so we can measure interest — opens, read depth, and related clicks — before anyone writes an app spec.

What people do today

WhatsApp with the shop, Fuelio-class logs, a Drive folder, insurance email. Resale value is a Facebook guess. Service dates live on a sticker.

Who already won the obvious version

OEM apps, Fuelio/Drivvo-class, insurance apps, marketplace listing tools. Nobody owns the whole file without becoming a dealer CRM.

Where a small team can still work

A vehicle binder: odometer, last service, fuel entries, insurance expiry, a resale checklist. Photo of the dashboard is an input. Optional reminder. Do not pretend you have live auction data on day one.

How to validate before you build

Ask to see the last service record on their phone. Time-to-find is the metric. Two-wheel vs four-wheel are different lists in VN/ID/TH — pick one. If they only use the dealer app and lease, the niche is thinner.
