Banks own the ledger. Leftover jobs are subscription lists, bill splits, and expenses trapped in screenshots.
People photograph receipts and still retype them. The product is structured expense data — not another camera filter.
Freelancers, small teams, and household shared costs still end in a camera roll of faded thermal paper. The pain is obvious. Monetization (Pro export, multi-trip, tax pack) is clearer than in generic utilities.

Snap a photo, maybe drop it in Drive or a notes app, then rebuild the spreadsheet at month end. Expensify/QuickBooks exist for companies. Consumers use Gallery + denial.
Expensify, Zoho, QuickBooks, bank apps, and scanner apps with a “receipt” mode. Big finance suites win companies. Consumer Play is messy and ad-heavy.
A local-first capture → fields tool: merchant, date, total, currency, category, tax. Export CSV/PDF when the user asks. Shared household or solo freelancer packs beat “enterprise expense.” Privacy matters — receipts contain card tails and addresses.
