Recipes From TikTok and Reels: Pull the Job Out of the Video

Short-video cooking is the default recipe book. New saver apps are taking review pace because the job is a list you can take to the shop, not a replay. Platforms keep the video; they do not owe you structured steps.

Share-sheet or URL → ingredients, steps, yield, a shop list. Honest about music-only videos. Optional photo of a handwritten card. Do not ship a second TikTok. Copyright: extract for personal use; do not republish the clip.

How to validate before you build

Paste ten videos you actually cooked. Count wrong grams. If users will not open the list in the store, you have a toy. Search Play for “tiktok recipe” vs “recipe book.” Reviews that say “can’t login to TikTok” are an auth wall — design around share, not scrape-at-scale.
