Phones now hold years of camera roll, WhatsApp media, Downloads, and app caches. Files by Google and OEM cleaners already own “free up space.” They do not own a calm, trustworthy diagnosis of what is large, duplicate, stale, or safe to move.

What people do today

Files by Google, CCleaner-style farms, OEM “phone manager” apps, and SD Maid-class tools for enthusiasts. Big studios win on distribution and default-app placement, not on explanation quality.

A local-first storage intelligence layer: what grew this week, which apps hoard media, which folders are duplicates of Drive/WhatsApp, what is safe vs. risky to delete. Visualization and rules beat “boost now.” Avoid looking like a cleaner with a new icon.

Mine 1-star reviews of cleaners for “deleted my photos” and “too many ads.” Search Play for “what is using storage” vs “cleaner.” Prototype a read-only report before any delete action. Measure whether users return weekly to check, not only when the phone is full.
